Like Pee in the Sand.

For the first time in a very long time. I wasn't hungover on New Years Day. Highlight of non-hungoverness surprisingly wasn't that I didn't physically feel like garbage, it was that I didn't have any of that panicked "did I actually say that" brain searching that occasionally goes down the day after a big party night like that.

Plus I hate New Years Eve. But that's another story.

This is about New Years Day and the spontaneous trip I took to the beach. I was able to pull myself away from my Walking Dead obsession (and my son away from his Minecraft You Tube videos obsession) for a quick drive out to the coast. My good friend Claire came along for the ride and we spent most of the drive gossiping. Which is always fun.

We went to Wright's Beach on the Sonoma Coast. And the waves were crazy. Probably dangerously so, but we kept a nice safe distance. I wish I'd had my actual camera, but alas, the iPhone had to do. And it reminded me of the photo a day challenge I'd once upon a time attempted. It occurs to me that when I tried this challenge before I didn't have an iPhone and it just wasn't as convenient to take photos. But now I do. So it's on. So photo of the day, day 1 2013? It was a tough call. But this was the winner:
Yep. That's my child peeing on his name in the sand. Happy New Year!
Andrew is hilarious. He, like most almost 6 year olds think things like farting and peeing outside are some of the most funny to do and discuss. And really, they don't consider these topics or actions inappropriate at any time.

I reprimand when necessary.

But sometimes I laugh right along with him.
